COVID Clinics at Gurney Surgery Closing

Since January 2021, Gurney Surgery has operated as a Local Vaccination Site delivering the COVID vaccine programme to Norwich along side other locations. At Gurney we have delivered nearly 78,000 vaccines during the past 18 months to help ensure that as many people as possible can access a vaccine as quickly as possible in the single largest vaccination programme in NHS history.

The last vaccination clinic at Gurney will be held on 21st May. After this date, Patients can still access a COVID vaccine via two main channels. One is through the National Booking System the other is via the local Norfolk and Waveney CCG to find a walk in centre. The links for these can be found below.

For those Patients who are housebound, these will be coordinated at scale by the local Primary Care Network, in conjunction with the surgery.

On behalf of all the Partners of Castle we would like to thank all the vaccine staff who worked tirelessly, often very long days, seven days a week to deliver the vaccine programme. We would also like to extend thanks to the numerous volunteers who gave up their free time to work in the clinics. Without their dedicated help and support these clinics would not have been as successful and we would not have been able to vaccinate as many people as we did, as quickly as we did.

We would also like to extend thanks to all the Castle Staff who continued the day to day primary care services whilst the vaccine clinics were held.

Lastly we would like to thank each and every person who came to Gurney for their vaccine. Whether you are a Patient of Castle Partnership or not. By having the vaccine you have all played a major part in reducing the spread of COVID and kept those who are more vulnerable safe.

Planning will now start on the Autumn Booster and Flu vaccinations once further guidance has been published. So we will communicate that to all our Patients in due course.

Once again on behalf all the Partners, thank you all either working, volunteering or attending for the vaccine at Gurney Surgery.
