Ramadan and Diabetes – advice for Muslim patients

Ramadan in 2022 will run from on or around Saturday 2 April for 29 or 30 days, ending with Eid al-Fitr, a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

Muslims who are diabetic who plan to fast during Ramadan are being advised to speak to their healthcare team to review how they are managing their condition and understanding the risks to their health before making the decision to do so. To help with this Diabetes UK has developed a Diabetes and Ramadan webpage and a Ramadan and Diabetes factsheet.
